A friend in need is a friend indeed story
Once
upon a time, there lived two close friends in a village. One day they were
walking through a forest. The forest was full of wild animals. They
knew that they could face danger anytime in the forest. So, they promised
each other that they would not leave anyone at any risk. Suddenly they
saw a bear coming towards them. Seeing the bear, they were very
frightened and one friend climbed up a tree without thinking about the other
friend. But the other friend did not know how to climb up a tree. As a
result, he lay down on the ground with his ready wit, stopped breathing, and
pretended to be a dead man. In the meanwhile, the bear came to him and
smelt his ears but did not touch him. The bear thought him to be a dead man and went
away. This is because bears never eat dead animals. The other friend on
the tree saw everything. However, after the bear left, the friend who was
on the tree climbed down from the tree. Then he said to his friend lying
on the ground, “Friend, what did the bear whisper in your ears?”
Another friend replied, “The bear whispered in my ears not to trust a
friend who leaves a friend in times of danger.”

এক সময় এক গ্রামে দুই ঘনিষ্ঠ বন্ধু থাকত। একদিন তারা বনের
মধ্যে দিয়ে যাচ্ছিল। বন ছিল বন্য পশুতে পরিপূর্ণ।
তারা জানত যে বনে যে কোন সময় তাদের বিপদের সম্মুখীন হতে পারে। তাই, তারা একে অপরকে প্রতিশ্রুতি
দিয়েছিল যে তারা কোন ঝুঁকিতে কেউ কাউকে ছেড়ে যাবে না। হঠাৎ তারা দেখতে পেল একটি ভল্লুক তাদের দিকে এগিয়ে আসছে।ভল্লুকটিকে দেখে তারা খুব ভয় পেয়ে গেল এবং এক বন্ধু অন্য
বন্ধুর কথা না ভেবে গাছে উঠে গেল। কিন্তু অন্য
বন্ধু জানত না কিভাবে গাছে উঠতে হয়। ফলস্বরূপ,
সে তার উপস্থিত বুদ্ধির দ্বারা মাটিতে শুয়ে পড়ল এবং নিশ্বাস
বন্ধ করে একজন মৃত ব্যক্তির ভান করল। এরই মধ্যে
ভল্লুকটি তার কাছে আসলো এবং তার কানের কাছে গন্ধ নিল কিন্তু তাকে স্পর্শ করেনি। ভল্লুকটি তাকে মৃত ভেবে চলে গেল। কারণ
ভাল্লুক কখনো মৃত প্রাণী খায় না। গাছে থাকা অন্য
বন্ধুটি সব দেখল। তবে ভল্লুক চলে যাওয়ার পর গাছে
থাকা বন্ধুটি গাছ থেকে নেমে পড়ল। তারপর মাটিতে
শুয়ে থাকা বন্ধুকে বলল, “বন্ধু, ভল্লুক তোমার কানে ফিসফিস করে কি বলল?” অন্য বন্ধু উত্তর দিল, “ভল্লুক আমার কানে
ফিসফিস করে বলল যে বন্ধু বিপদের সময় বন্ধুকে ছেড়ে চলে যায় তাকে বিশ্বাস করো না।“
দুই বন্ধু এবং একটি ভল্লুককের গল্প নৈতিক: অসময়ের বন্ধুই প্রকৃত বন্ধু।
