Load Shedding
Load shedding has become a very common affair in our daily life these days. The people living in the areas supplied with electricity are quite familiar with the term load shedding. In the modern world electricity plays a very important role in regulating our life. Any interruption in the supply of this vital item of energy can put the whole system out of order and simultaneously can paralyze our daily activities. In our country there is hardly any area which is not affected by load shedding. Load shedding means the discontinuation of supply of electricity. Load shedding occurs when generation of power is less than the demand and when we distribute electricity wrongly. It creates many problems of far-reaching consequences in the economic and social development of the country. Most of the mills and factories become idle and for this reason industrial production declines and workers are retrenched. Social works and activities cannot go in order. Students cannot study properly because of the failure of electricity. During load shedding they are to study in dim candlelight. The housewife gropes in the darkness in the kitchen. The shops are to close down before the closing time. Spectators in the cinema hall spend hours in stuffy suffocation for load shedding. All types of productions stop and the entire life comes to a standstill during the period of load shedding. So, proper steps should be taken to stop load shedding. By establishing more power plants, power houses and by stopping unplanned distribution of electricity, illegal connection and reducing system loss, we can solve this problem.

She also takes care of our health and studies. She looks after my grandparents as well and does all household work. On the whole, she is the heart of our family. She is not only a mother but also a friend and a good teacher. When I feel sick, she feels very sad and nurses me as soon as I recover. She is a pious, honest, sincere, friendly, helpful, kind and punctual lady. Sometimes she goes to the market and visits relatives. She helps the poor and sick people. In the evening, she watches TV. She remains busy the whole weak. On holidays she cooks special dishes (food) for us and spends her free time with us. I can’t think (imagine) any happiness of our family without my mother. There is none else like my sweet mother in the world. I love my mother very much.
An Igloo
An igloo is a structure which is built from blocks of solid snow. They are carefully shaved and placed to fit in the best positions. Igloos are closely associated with Inuit culture. Many Native North American people built igloos, some of which were quite large and elaborate. Igloos can still be seen in the far reaches of North America today. An igloo may also be referred to as a snow house. A classical igloo is dome-shaped. The roof has a small hole for airing, and the door is dug into the snow so that it is lower than the igloo itself. This creates a cold trap, ensuring that the temperature inside the igloo stays relatively warm. In fact, some igloos get quite temperate inside and the uses of heated stones raise the inner temperature. Making an igloo is rather remarkable. The blocks are cut from snow which has been heavily compacted, ensuring that they will be strong, and the structure is built without the use of mortar or supports. Once the igloo is finished, the people inside actually contribute to its strength and solidity, because heat causes the inside blocks to start melting, while the cold refreezes the melted water, creating a smooth sheet of ice which further insulates the igloo.
