Globalization

Globalization is, basically, a process of growing trade and commerce all over the world by creating a border less market. However, it is creating more opportunities for capitalist countries rather than for the developing ones. Similarly, in our modern day and age it has become a part of every country’s structure. Again, it is the international exchanges of technology, economy, culture, and politics which have increased over the past few years due to ease of communication and transportation. There are many advantages as well as disadvantages for globalization. With the development of hi-tech communication media and rapid transportation facilities the world has come closer. We can share our joys and sorrows like next door neighbors. Globalization also brings all types of different customs and behavior into our homes through satellite television channels and the Internet. Now, we can enrich our local culture through constant interaction of different cultures. In contrary, In the name of help and co-operation the industrially developed capitalist countries are misusing the cheap labor available in poor countries. This is the common fear about the adverse effects of globalization in the countries like ours. In spite of some disadvantages it makes the world very closer and makes it a global village.

Good Food/Nutritive Food

Good food does not mean the costly food. The food which is helpful for our body, mind and health and which helps to prevent all the diseases from our body is considered as good food. Generally, a balanced diet contains all elements of food-carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamin, mineral salt and water. We cannot avoid eating food because it gives us energy and the nutritional requirements we need to survive. Despite the many types of food available for us to enjoy, we should still remember to eat mostly fruits and vegetables because these are the only foods that have high nutritious importance. They are essential in promoting good health and keeping us fit from the insides, because eating too much unhealthy products such as fast foods have no nutritional value at all. Meat is also important because these are rich in protein and iron, as well as other nutrients that fruits and vegetables alone cannot give. It’s also important to choose the proper types of meat to stay healthy, such as bony meats and seafood. Grains also make up an important part of a healthy diet because they are loaded with fiber, antioxidants, b-vitamins, and minerals. The eating of more grains has significant health benefits such as lower risk of: Heart disease, fatness, indigestion, and certain kinds of cancers. It’s highly recommended to consume grains and other forms of fiber on a daily basis; good sources include brown bread, barley, and turmeric.

Green House Effect

A greenhouse is a house made of glass. It has glass walls and a glass roof. People grow vegetables and flowers and other plants in them. A greenhouse stays warm inside, even during winter. During the daylight hours, a greenhouse gets warmer and warmer and stays pretty warm at night too. This is because the heat received from the sun is trapped inside the greenhouse by the glass. The Earth is also like a greenhouse. During the day Earth’s surface warms up in the sunlight. At night, the surface cools releasing the heat back into the air. But some of the heat is trapped by gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These gases, called greenhouse gases, work like the glass walls and the roof and keep the Earth warm. This is global warming and it is making the Earth a dangerous planet. Unfortunately, we are making the earth too hot. We are using oil, gas and coal for running cars, buses, trains, planes, power stations and so on. These fuels have carbon in them. This carbon and other gases trap the heat in the atmosphere and do not allow the earth to cool down. As a result, the Earth gets hotter. As a result of global warming, the ice on the Earth’s surface is melting fast due to extreme heat. Oceans and seas are warming too. All the ice that melts will fill up the oceans and seas and they will overflow on land. Thus a huge area of land will go under water. Some of the best land for growing food is also the most low-lying. That means it will be flooded first. Even some big cities like London, Kolkata and Bangkok will get flooded. That means thousands of people will lose their houses and land and they will go hungry. Moreover, as the earth’s climate warms up, the weather gets more violent. Storms and cyclones will become more powerful. More areas will get drier and turn into deserts. There will be heavier rains too. So there will be more floods and river erosions.

Next we have to go a grocery store with sufficient money. We should go the nearest and reliable store to do the shopping. Then we have to ask the shopkeeper for the things that we have listed. We should bargain with the shopkeeper for the price. Lastly we have to pay the money. According to the above process we can do grocery shopping perfectly.

How to do Grocery Shopping

You go to the grocery store to buy fruits, vegetables, meats, and various packaged goods that you need for cooking and eating. After you park your car in the parking lot, you go inside the store and take a shopping cart. You go up and down the various aisles looking for the things that you need to get on this shopping trip. It is usually a good idea to make a shopping list before you go to the store. If you make a list first, you know exactly what you need to get, and you won’t be so tempted to buy things you don’t really need. It is also a good idea not to shop when you are hungry. If you shop when you’re hungry, you usually buy things that are not on your list. This is known as impulse buying. Shopping with a list, and shopping when you’re not hungry, are good ways to avoid impulse buying. Many people go grocery shopping once a week. Different stores have weekly sales, so it is also a good idea to plan what you buy to take advantage of the sales. Saturdays are busy days when more people go grocery shopping, so some people prefer to shop during off-peak times. Many supermarkets are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so it is easy to pick a time to go grocery shopping that is convenient for you. After you’ve gotten all the groceries that you need, you go to the checkout. If the store is crowded, you might have to look around to see which checkout lane is the shortest. When it’s your turn, you put all your groceries on the conveyor belt and wait for the cashier to ring them up. Most stores now have a scanner, so instead of entering the prices by hand at the cash register, all the cashier has to do is swipe the groceries over the scanner, and the price comes up automatically on the cash register. However, things that must be weighed, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, must still be entered by hand. The cashier puts the items on the scale and enters a code for the fruits or vegetables. The code indicates what the current price of the item is, and then the cash register calculates the total cost based on the weight of the item. Once the cashier has rung up all your groceries, you pay him. The cashier puts your groceries into bags. Sometimes he has a bagger who helps him by bagging the groceries and putting them in your cart for you. After all the groceries have been loaded in your cart, you can go to the parking lot and put the groceries in your car, go home, and put all the groceries away. Then you’re done grocery shopping for another week!
