Paragraph 7th March Speech
The 7th March is a
memorable day in the national life of Bengalis. On that day, Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman, the father of the Bengali nation, delivered a historically
important speech at Dhaka Race Course Maydan, which is known as the 7th
March speech in history. About 2 million people from all walks of life were
present during that speech. In 1971, when political and military tension was
prevailing between East Pakistan and West Pakistan, Bangabandhu delivered that
valuable speech. In his speech, he said, “This time the struggle is for
our freedom, this time the struggle is for our independence.” In that
speech, the father of the nation called upon all the Bengalis of East Pakistan
to prepare for the war of independence. He ordered the Bengalis to rush
into the war against the Pakistanis with everything they had. In that speech,
the entire Bengalis were strongly motivated to participate in the
independence war spontaneously. Actually, the speech touched the hearts of
Bengalis. As a result, When Pakistani barbarous forces started attacking
the Bengalis on the night of March 25, 1971, they took part in the war to make the country free from the enemy by inspiring the words of the father of
the nation. In fact, the 7th March speech encouraged the entire Bengalis
greatly and strengthened their weakness. A few years ago UNESCO recognized the
speech. As a result, now it is a universal speech to people all over the
world. Therefore, as long as Bangladesh exists, the historical 7th March speech
will remain in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh.
